Pe 14 mai 2013 la Chişinău a avut loc Atelierul „Dezvoltarea şi Evaluarea portofoliului de politici consacrat Atenuării şi Adaptării la Schimbările Climatice pentru R.Moldova” organizat de Institutul de Energetică AŞM în cadrul proiectului PROMITHEAS-4 „Transferul de cunoştinţe şi necesităţi de cercetare pentru pregătirea portofoliilor de politici dedicate atenuării şi adaptării la schimbările climatice”, finanţat pentru o perioadă de trei ani (2011-2013) de UE în cadrul programului FP-7.

Workshop Objective: prezent of rezults of the development of a tool for identification of the policies for climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Overview.12 countries from the region were involved in elaboration of a common tool for environmental policy.After two years of research it was proposed the following approach to include: LEAP Model, internationaly implemented, and the AMS Method for multicriteria evaluation of scenarios (details – www.ie.asm.md).During the Workshop of May 17 2013 the national policy were presented for the Republic of Moldova, and development scenarios based on proposed tool, and also identified the research needs for further improvements

The Workshop have following conclusions:

  1. The Workshop was very helpful for audience by new results obtained in all the domain the project PROMITHEAS-4 was devoted: information and data collection, methodology applied to select scenarios, the model applied to calculate scenarios and assess them, research needs and gaps for preparing mitigation/adaptation policy portfolios.
  2. As a result of trainings devoted to scenarios calculation using LEAP model, the last was tailored to correspond Moldova specific conditions, where 96% of energy sources are from import.
  3. The list of research needs and gaps identified would help the national experts to promote new studies and works, in order to ensure pragmatic platform for more accurate outcomes on GHG emissions calculation in the future.
  4. The Workshop recognize that for the purpose of renewable electricity involvement into the climate change scenarios calculation the lack of effective balancing power on country territory should be taken into consideration, their share being put in compliance with this shortage.
